Job Summary
Develop & Discover Daycare is a new NYS licensed Group Family Daycare serving infants and toddlers in a purpose-built classroom designed specifically for early childhood learning. We combine the warmth and individualized attention of a small childcare program with the structure, professionalism, and educational focus of a larger center.
We're looking for dependable, enthusiastic Assistant Teachers who genuinely enjoy working with young children and want to be part of building a high-quality program from the ground up. Our assistants are active members of the classroom—engaging with children through play, supporting daily routines, and helping create a safe, nurturing, and fun environment where every child can learn and grow.

We are currently hiring two part-time Assistant Teachers:
- One position: 3 days per week (10 hours/day, 30 hours/week)
- One position: 2 days per week (10 hours/day, 20 hours/week)
- Opportunities to substitute for additional hours.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for infants and toddlers.
- Supervise children at all times while maintaining NYS OCFS health and safety standards.
- Assist with diapering, toileting, handwashing, feeding, and other daily care routines.
- Engage children in age-appropriate play, learning activities, outdoor play, and circle time.
- Support children's social, emotional, and developmental growth through positive interactions.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized classroom throughout the day.
- Prepare and clean up activities, meals, snacks, and nap areas.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with families during drop-off and pick-up.
- Use Brightwheel to document daily activities, meals, diapers, naps, and photos as needed.
- Work collaboratively with the lead teacher to implement daily routines and curriculum.
- Attend required trainings and staff meetings as needed.
- Perform other childcare-related duties necessary to support the daily operation of the program.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or childcare setting is highly preferred
- Knowledge of child development principles, early childhood education practices, and classroom management techniques
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required or obtainable upon hire
- Familiarity with toddler care, infant care, and preschool activities enhances your ability to support diverse age groups
- Strong communication skills for effective parent interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to follow safety protocols diligently and adhere to childcare licensing regulations
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
