Hybrid Property & Farm Operations Manager
Love a Job Where No Two Days Are the Same?
Property Farm Operations Manager – Full Benefits & Real Ownership Potential
If you're the kind of person who gets bored doing the same thing every day, this is the role you've been waiting for. One morning you're running a crew building a handling facility or clearing fence lines under a blue sky… the next you're on the phone solving a tenant issue, researching a potential development parcel from the office on a rainy day, or knocking out QuickBooks entries while the coffee brews. Outdoor projects, people problems, land scouting, livestock, construction — this job has it all.
We run a small bison operation (11 head and growing) plus a portfolio of a few rental properties. We need one sharp, dependable person to keep everything moving forward and growing.
What a typical month looks like (it will never be "typical" twice):
- Supervise one Spanish-speaking laborer (Feb–Nov) for farm maintenance: bigger crew occasionally available for bigger projects new build, additional fencing, corral system, tree clearing.
- Keep the equipment running- tractor, skidsteer, side by side, excavator, diesel dually.
- Mange and rotate the bison herd, monitor health, schedule vet/farrier.
- Jump on tenant calls — coordinate repairs, handle lease questions and issues.
- Scout and evaluate new farm or development land (driving back roads one day, running comps the next).
- Keep books clean in QuickBooks, run reports, pay bills.
- Tackle whatever else pops up — because on a farm real estate portfolio, something always does.
Schedule & Flexibility
Variable hours that follow the seasons and projects — full-time hrs) during spring/summer/fall pushes, lighter in winter unless we're hunting land deals or catching up on office work. You'll rarely work a weekend unless we choose to knock out a project together.
Compensation & Benefits (yes, real benefits)
- Pay rate is $30-$40/hr depending on experience and proven skill set (large animal experience, construction background, or real-estate experience preferred).
- Full health insurance (medical dental) — we pay the first $300 of the premium for health and 100% for dental up to $2000 annually.
- Simple IRA with 3% company match.
- 5 Paid holidays 2 weeks PTO.
- Farm vehicle provided
- We're wide open to letting you lean heavier into the area you love and excel at — want to supervise the next farm project? Run the herd through the handling facility? Want to research the next development deal? We'll shift hours and responsibilities in your favor.
Who thrives here
- 3 years in farm/ranch/ag experience.
- Property management/Real estate experience
- Physically capable of running a chainsaw, swinging a post maul, or climbing in/out of a skid-steer.
- Comfortable supervising a Spanish-speaking laborer (bilingual a big plus but not required, Google translate is great).
- Detail-oriented enough to keep books clean and tenants happy. Quickbooks, spreadsheet, internet research skills are valuable.
- Clean background is a must
- Valid driver's license, auto insurance and reliable vehicle is required.
This is genuinely fun, varied work for the right person. If you want to wear Carhartt one day and a button-down the next — and actually see the results of your effort in steel, grass, and closed deals — let's talk.
Send your resume and a quick note telling us which part of this job excites you the most and why you are the right candidate. References required; background check will be conducted.
We're excited to find our next key player — hope it's you
