Detwiler Roofing, LLC is a family-owned and operated company who has been providing high quality roofing systems for over 15 years. Due to the nature of our business safety is of the upmost importance. Ensuring our team members are healthy and happy at the end of each and every day is our priority. For this reason, Detwiler Roofing is currently seeking an experienced Safety Technician to expand upon our safety-first culture.
Overall, a Safety Technician would work together with all of our team members. The Safety Technician would work both in the office and out in the field training team members in safety and monitoring, maintaining, and enhancing the organization’s health and safety activities.
Responsibilities
- Must be able to work in a variety of settings including the office and project sites.
- Work with the team members to identify/measure and remedy hazards in effort to reduce and/or prevent harm to people, property, the environment, and the public.
- Work to help develop and update safety policies, procedures, forms, etc.
- Develop various safety related forms such as site-specific safety plans, job hazard analysis’, etc.
- Collect data to test and identify safety and health conditions of the workplace.
- Perform regular site inspections.
- Utilize knowledge and skills to find solutions to unsafe working conditions/environmental concerns in the workplace.
- Remediate all hazards found within the workplace.
- Inspect, test, and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure they follow safety standards and government regulations.
- Demonstrate knowledge and correct use of safety equipment.
- Understand and adhere to specific safety standards/government regulations.
- Complete and file required documents associated with on-the-job injuries and illnesses including (but not limited to) OSHA 300, Worker’s Compensation, and Company Accident Investigation Forms.
- Assist with GL, Auto, and WC claim management. Perform risk loss trending of profit centers and provide results to management and the Safety Committee.
- Provide training, logs of training (with valid certificates for construction-based roles) not limited to fall protection, hazard communication, boon trucks, new employee safety orientation, PPE, aerial boom/scissor lift, bloodborne pathogens, confined space, slips/trips/falls, ladder, scaffold awareness, scaffold competent person, housekeeping, proper lifting, and forklift.
- Ensure employees are up to date on required certifications and trainings.
- Various other daily, monthly, and annual safety tasks, including, but not limited to reporting, monitoring, developing, maintaining, and evaluating safety process, forms, filings, certifications, etc...
Skills/Qualifications:
- Ability to work with computer software programs (Microsoft Products, Email, Internet, etc.)
- 2 Years Experience (Highly Preferred – BUT, will train the right candidate)
- High School or Equivalent
- Reliable Transportation (must be able to travel on a regular basis)
- OSHA-30 Certification (Preferred) *If not OSHA-30 certified we will put you through the course.
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check & drug screening.

Salary: Competitive standard rates based upon experience.
