What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Supervisor, 2nd Shift position at Detroit Thermal Systems, LLC?
Mission
This position is responsible for product movement within the facility which includes loading and unloading trucks. Critical to the successful movement is the proper transactions in the system. This position is responsible for supervising hourly employees in the Logistics Department. The supervisor will be required to be proficient in the company’s ERP system and customer systems. The Logistics Supervisor is expected to demonstrate proficiency in all Company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
· The Logistics Supervisor will plan, assign and supervise daily work assignments.
· Conduct daily communication meetings with employees.
· Implement and maintain 5S
· Create and sustain a safe work environment.
· Create/maintain an environment where employees are motivated to take ownership of responsibilities to increase productivity.
· Continuously look for areas to reduce warehouse backorders and shipping errors while reducing costs.
· Responsible for assisting in resolving employee issues.
· Ensure safe transportation of stock to and from the lines and warehouse storage
· Ensure completion of cycle counts on a regular basis.
· Identify and implement process improvements
- Tracking and improvement of “Source Issues”.
