What We're Looking For
Detroit Recovery Project is seeking a Facilities Coordinator to support the daily operations, maintenance, safety, and functionality of all DRP facilities throughout Wayne and Oakland Counties. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this position coordinates preventative maintenance, assists with repairs, manages facility-related documentation, oversees inventory, coordinates vendors and contractors, and helps ensure all DRP locations remain safe, compliant, and operational. This position requires regular travel between DRP locations and offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on the environments where recovery and healing take place.
Compensation Range: This position is supported through grant funding. As a result, compensation is determined by the grant budget and may fall within a designated pay rate or range set by that funding source. The hourly pay range for this position is $24.00-$26.44 per hour and is based on non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience. This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position that is eligible for overtime compensation with prior approval.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Facilities Coordination
- Coordinate day-to-day facility operations across multiple DRP locations.
- Assist the Facilities Manager with preventative maintenance schedules and facility improvement projects.
- Respond to facility maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Assist with office moves, furniture assembly, room setups, and organizational projects.
Building Maintenance
- Perform minor building repairs including painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance.
- Identify maintenance issues before they become larger problems.
- Coordinate repairs requiring outside contractors or specialized vendors.
- Assist with seasonal maintenance and exterior building upkeep.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Conduct routine facility inspections to identify maintenance concerns and safety hazards.
- Ensure facilities remain clean, organized, and compliant with applicable health, safety, licensing, and regulatory requirements.
- Support emergency preparedness initiatives and life safety practices.
- Assist with regulatory inspections and facility readiness activities.
Vendor & Contractor Coordination
- Coordinate maintenance vendors and service providers.
- Track repair requests, work orders, and vendor completion.
- Maintain relationships with contractors while ensuring work is completed according to organizational expectations.
Inventory & Asset Management
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, cleaning products, office furniture, and facility equipment.
- Coordinate ordering, receiving, and organization of supplies.
- Monitor facility assets and assist with equipment replacements as needed.
Administrative Support
- Maintain maintenance logs, inspection reports, repair documentation, and compliance records.
- Track preventative maintenance schedules and facility-related documentation.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Maintenance Technician, Facilities Coordinator, Facilities Assistant, or in a related facilities management role.
- Valid and unrestricted Michigan Driver's License with proof of insurance and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel between DRP locations throughout Wayne and Oakland Counties.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, holidays, and weekends, as needed.
- Ability to identify maintenance needs and perform minor building repairs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred
- Associate's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Experience with inventory management and logistics.
- Strong communication, organization, and observational skills.
Preferred Certifications
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
- Maintenance or Trade Certification (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, etc.)
- Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM)
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Training related to CARF, The Joint Commission (TJC) Environment of Care (EC) and Life Safety (LS) standards
- Knowledge of NFPA 101 Life Safety Code requirements
