Position Summary
The FACE Parent Outreach Coordinator is a part-time position for active parents, family members, or members of the school community. The FACE Parent Outreach Coordinator supports the Office of Family and Community Engagement (FACE) in implementing Districtwide family and community engagement initiatives.
The FACE Parent Outreach Coordinator assists with parent programming, outreach and communication, parent organization support, enrollment assistance, District and school-based events, canvassing, and the organization and distribution of materials and supplies to schools. The Coordinator also works directly with parents and school communities to strengthen parent leadership, increase family participation, connect families with District resources, and support the successful implementation of FACE programs and initiatives.
This position requires regular interaction with parents, school staff, community members, and FACE staff and may require travel to schools and community locations throughout the District.
Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- Prior experience working or volunteering in a K-12 school setting
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing with parents and families about school-related matters
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the FACE office, school sites, and other District/community locations as assigned
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Teams and PowerSchool strongly preferred
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Support FACE parent and family engagement programs, workshops, meetings, conferences, and Districtwide initiatives, including registration, sign-in, participant support, evaluations, setup, breakdown, and other event logistics.
- Conduct outreach to DPSCD parents and families through phone calls, text-based outreach, email, canvassing, distribution of materials, and other approved communication methods to increase participation in FACE and District programs.
- Provide parent organization support to schools implementing PTO, PTA/PTSA, and other approved parent organization models, including assisting with parent meetings, outreach, elections, documentation, and implementation activities under the direction of FACE staff.
- Assist with parent leadership development, including supporting trainings, workshops, orientations, and other opportunities designed to prepare parents to effectively participate in and lead parent organizations and school engagement activities.
- Support parents and families with enrollment, including providing general assistance, helping families navigate District enrollment resources and processes, and connecting families with the appropriate District staff when additional support is needed.
- Assist FACE staff with parent-facing programs and initiatives, including Parent Academy, the Parent Teacher Home Visit Program (PTHVP), parent leadership programming, Title I family engagement activities, volunteer initiatives, and other District-sponsored programs.
- Assist with phone coverage and family inquiries, including answering and returning calls, providing approved information, documenting parent needs, connecting families with appropriate resources, and escalating concerns to FACE staff when necessary.
- Support Districtwide canvassing and outreach efforts to current and prospective DPSCD families, including neighborhood and community-based outreach.
- Organize, prepare, inventory, and distribute materials and supplies for FACE programs, parent organizations, schools, workshops, meetings, and Districtwide events.
- Deliver and distribute materials to DPSCD schools and other District locations as assigned, including flyers, parent communications, program materials, supplies, signage, and other resources.
- Assist with the preparation and coordination of parent meetings and events, including preparing materials, communicating with participants, organizing meeting spaces, supporting virtual meetings, and assisting with follow-up activities.
- Build positive relationships with parents, families, parent leaders, school staff, community organizations, faith-based partners, and other stakeholders to strengthen family engagement and connect families with District programs and resources.
- Support parent volunteers and parent leaders participating in FACE and District initiatives, including recruitment, communication, coordination, and maintaining appropriate participation records.
- Participate in required FACE training, staff meetings, Parent Outreach Coordinator trainings, and professional development activities.
- Travel to DPSCD schools and community locations as assigned to provide hands-on support for parent programs, parent organization meetings and elections, outreach activities, enrollment initiatives, and District events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
