In accordance with the Agreement between Organization of School Administrators and Supervisors (OSAS) and the Board of Education of the School District of the City of Detroit, the following vacancy is announced.
Position Summary
Curriculum Leaders are critical members of the Academics team. Curriculum Leaders are assigned to school cohorts, working to collaborate effectively with their assigned Assistant Superintendent and schools to align their support to school improvement plans (SIPs) and help schools maximize contributions for members of their instructional leadership teams, including Lead Teachers. Curriculum Leaders support the development and implementation of school improvement plans as well as the supervision of the instructional program.
Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university
- Valid State of Michigan Administrator Certificate highly preferred
- Valid Teaching Certificate in related content area highly preferred
- K-12 classroom teaching experience required, with at least 5 years' experience preferred
- At least 3 years instructional leadership experience highly preferred
- Assist in the achievement of the mission, goals and objectives of Detroit Public Schools Community District; support school staff to implement DPSCD's vision for excellent instruction through the instructional framework
- Work with assigned content area leader, cohort leader, and principals to guide the implementation of the curriculum program, including core curriculum, intervention and acceleration, and assessment; work with content area and school leaders to design and facilitate strong school support and professional development offerings, including job-embedded supports for educators.
- Help supervise all tiers of the instructional program at assigned schools, working across content areas to provide assistance to individual staff members to improve instructional skills; provide information and leadership in the development and implementation of school level-goals, action plans, instructional techniques and innovative practices
- Contribute toward the development and implementation of a school improvement plan at all assigned schools.
- Contribute toward the development of instructional materials, assessments, resources, and guidance documents for practitioners.
- Support the implementation of programs that foster student interest and excitement for learning; positively engage families as partners in students' success.
- Gather and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of content area programs and propose refinements to strategy and approach to school improvement, materials, and professional learning as a result.
- Demonstrate a commitment to antiracism and the affirmation of student and staff identities, center racial equity and inclusion, and bring practical solutions to issues of equity and inclusion in classrooms, schools and on the team
- Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
