THE YARD (Detroit Axe) at CORKTOWN
The Yard is an extremely unique bar and event venue complete with two beautiful bars, a food truck housed in an indoor airstream trailer, axe throwing, a board game room with hundreds of games, pinball machines, shuffleboard, two huge outdoor fire pits, cornhole arenas, giant beer pong, and outdoor cabanas and decks.
We are seeking responsible and dependable barbacks/server assistants to assist with daily tasks. Cleanliness and organization are key. We’re looking to add team members who will work hard to ensure our customers have a fantastic experience at our venue. Must be available to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Responsibilities for Barback/Server Assistant include:
- Ensure the bar is stocked with liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, garnishes, and other necessary supplies
- Keep the bar area clean, including wiping down surfaces, cleaning glasses, and disposing of trash
- Assist bartenders by retrieving ingredients, washing glassware, and restocking supplies as needed
- Regularly check and refill napkins, straws, stirrers, and other bar necessities
- Collect and wash used glassware and ensure clean glasses are available at all times
- Occasionally assist with serving drinks and interacting with customers when the bar is busy
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as changing kegs and ensuring equipment is functioning properly
- Help with tracking inventory levels and notifying management of low stock
- Assist Back of House with prep and service protocol
- Assist with clearing tables of dirty dishes, glasses, and silverware in a timely manner
- Keep dining areas clean, including floors, tables, and chairs
- Janitorial work (opening/closing, maintaining bathroom amenities and cleanliness)
- Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant
Skills and Requirements:
- Able to keep up in a fast-paced work environment
- Able to stay on your feet for an extended period of time
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
- Willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
- Pay: $12 - $14 per hour PLUS tips
