What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at Detroit Automotive Technologies?
Overview
Production Supervisor manages their production zone. Production Supervisor will maintain production goals, produce accurate records, keep employees time and attendance up to date. Holding employees accountable to the employee handbook and union guidelines. Production Supervisors will be performing disciplinary write ups when necessary and performing audits per the audit schedule.
Duties
- Instruct and enforce safety procedures and protocol.
- Must promote safety awareness throughout the facility.
- Responsible for cleanliness and organization of the plant.
- Responsible for the direction/supervision of employees on his/her shift.
- Generate accurate production reports daily.
- Must maintain acceptable levels of productivity, with adherence to production standards and rates.
- Adhere to production schedules and lineup, making changes as needed to meet customer demand.
- Maintain employee training and accurate recording of records
- Responsible for resolving any quality problems as an active member of the Quality Team.
- Assist in the verification of outgoing shipments.
- Must be capable of performing minor maintenance functions within their respective area.
- Must be capable of process troubleshooting all related equipment in their respective assigned area.
- Must verify timecards for account accuracy daily.
- Must obtain basic knowledge of the CBA
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree, with a minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing operation, or an equivalent combined level of education and experience
- Good attendance record.
- Excellent communication skills.
- May be required to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
- Must be responsive to employee problems or needs.
- Must be able to demonstrate and influence people working together to accomplish change or make a difference to benefit the organization’s success through team building and accountability.
- Must be flexible to work on a rotational schedule.
Pay: From $58,000.00 per year
