Duties

  • Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures, surgical assistance, and critical care interventions
  • Perform laboratory work such as blood draws, urinalysis, and diagnostic testing using veterinary software and radiology diagnostics equipment
  • Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques, including dog handling, animal husbandry, and animal restraint methods
  • Insert IV catheters, monitor anesthesia during surgeries, and manage general anesthesia protocols with precision
  • Conduct diagnostic radiology procedures like X-ray imaging and interpret results to aid diagnosis
  • Administer medications accurately via various routes including IV insertion, medication administration, and pet grooming as needed
  • Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infections and ensure patient safety
  • Operate medical equipment such as phlebotomy tools, radiology machines, and laboratory analyzers with confidence
  • Assist in emergency medicine situations by providing critical & intensive care support and performing animal catheterization when necessary

Qualifications

  • Valid license as a Veterinary Technician or equivalent certification in veterinary technology
  • Proven experience working in veterinary clinics or hospitals with knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal physiology
  • Strong background in animal handling, dog training, pet grooming, and kennel experience preferred
  • Familiarity with veterinary anesthesia monitoring, veterinary surgical assistance, and critical care procedures
  • Competence in laboratory work including phlebotomy and diagnostic testing; experience with radiology diagnostics is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
  • Ability to operate medical equipment safely while adhering to aseptic techniques

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
