Job Description:
Dethlefs Pykosh & Murphy (DPM) is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our legal team. DPM is offering a very competitive salary to qualified candidates. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience practicing as an attorney with experience in litigation matters. DPM is looking for a candidate with excellent legal research and oral communication skills to join our Civil Litigation team.
DPM is a mid-sized law firm located in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. DPM began its operations in 1993. We have a proud history of superior representation of clients in state and federal courts throughout the Commonwealth. DPM offers a wide range of legal services across numerous practice areas, including but not limited to Family Law, Criminal Defense, Zoning and Municipal Law, Civil Litigation and Real Estate. Candidates would have the opportunity to expand their practice in other areas if desired. The firm is also active in the community and is committed to pro bono services.
Duties:
- Represent clients in court proceedings and negotiations.
- Draft legal documents, including motions, briefs, discovery requests, etc.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues.
- Stay current on changes in legislation and regulations affecting the practice areas.
Qualifications:
- Pennsylvania Bar License.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience.
- Experience/familiarity with litigation matters.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as Lexis-Nexis.
- Knowledge of Pennsylvania civil and administrative procedures and practices.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and desire to learn.
- Great interpersonal skills and ability to work easily with senior management and employees at all levels throughout the organization.
- Commitment to professionalism.
- Must have exceptional organizational and time management skills to meet strict deadlines.
