About the role
Are you a detail-oriented engineer with a passion for creating winning proposals? We’re looking for a Proposal Engineer to join our team in Stavanger and play a key role in developing competitive, accurate, and high-quality bids for our clients.
As a Proposal Engineer, you’ll work closely with colleagues across sales, engineering, procurement, and project management to deliver proposals that meet both technical and commercial requirements. This is a dynamic role where analytical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills come together to make an impact.
What You’ll Do As a Proposal Engineer:
- Analyse tender documents and customer requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive technical and commercial proposals in response to RFQs and tenders.
- Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, procurement, finance) to gather the necessary input.
- Ensure all proposals comply with client specifications, industry standards, and company policies.
- Perform cost estimation and risk analysis to support decision-making.
- Support sales teams during bid clarification and negotiation phases.
- Maintain bid documentation, records, and standard templates.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of bid processes and tools.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field). Relevant experience can compensate for a lack of formal education.
- Experience in proposal or bid management within industries such as marine, oil & gas, or building construction.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant IT tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
- A keen eye for detail, accuracy, and structure.
It’s a Plus If You Have:
- Familiarity with contract terms, procurement processes, and client specifications.
- Knowledge of project costing, estimation, and budgeting.
