What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Front Desk & Billing Specialist position at Details Dental Studio PLLC?
Details isn't a name. It's a standard. Details Dental Studio is a doctor-owned general and cosmetic practice on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St N in St. Petersburg. Dr. Alex Besmer, DDS, took over this long-standing practice in June 2026. Our standard is simple: high standards, human honesty, and the patient in the chair comes first. We are a small team. Each person owns one clear job, and everyone knows what a good day looks like. We pay for a team that holds that standard.
What you'll own
- The front. Smile big and greet every patient by name at check-in and check-out. New-patient forms are done before the patient sits down.
- The phones. Answer every call right away, and bring energy to each one. When callers ask about insurance, our answer is: "We do take insurance. Out of network. We file the claim for you."
- The schedule. Book, move, and confirm visits so the schedule stays full, and book each patient's next visit at check-out. Verify every patient's insurance before the visit: frequencies, waiting periods, and what we file.
- The money. Take payment at every visit. Send every claim the same day, and follow up on any claim still unpaid after 30 days. Post every payment, insurance check, and financing deposit in Open Dental the day it arrives. Before you leave, make sure the day's money matches Open Dental.
What a good day looks like
Every patient was greeted by name. Every call was answered. Tomorrow's patients are 95% confirmed by 2:00 PM. Every claim went out, every payment was posted, and the money matched.
What you bring
- You are outgoing and warm, and you smile easily with people you just met.
- You are honest and exact with money, and comfortable asking patients for payment.
- At least 1 year at a dental front desk.
- Experience verifying dental insurance, sending dental claims, and posting insurance payments. CDT coding knowledge is a plus.
- You communicate clearly with patients in English. Spanish or Russian is a plus.
- Open Dental experience is a plus. We will teach it.
Pay: $22.00 - $29.00 per hour
