Role Description
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Preschool Teacher for a full-time, on-site role at our Rochester, NY campus. The Assistant Preschool Teacher will assist in implementing lesson plans and approved curriculum to support early childhood education goals. Responsibilities include engaging young learners, fostering a nurturing and safe environment, promoting creative and social development, and collaborating with the lead teacher. The candidate will also communicate effectively with parents to provide updates on children's progress.
- Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities, faith-integrated lessons, and hands-on learning
- Supervise children during play, snack time, rest periods, and transitions
- Encourage positive behavior and support preschoolers in developing social, emotional, and self-help skills
- Help set up, maintain, and clean learning centers and classroom materials
- Provide attentive care and ensure the safety and well-being of all children
- Communicate kindly and professionally with staff, students, and parents
- Model Christ-like behavior and help cultivate a joyful, respectful classroom atmosphere
- Attend staff meetings or trainings as required
Qualifications
- Experience working with young children (preschool or early childhood experience preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent; early childhood coursework a plus
- CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and actively engage with preschoolers on their level
- Strong communication, patience, teamwork, and organizational skills
