What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Systems Coordinator position at Destine Preparatory Charter School?
At Destine Preparatory Charter School, our Operations Team is the heartbeat that keeps everything moving. We’re the behind-the-scenes heroes—the ones who make sure the lights are on, the systems are synced, the data is spotless, and the doors are open for learning.
We like to think of ourselves as the Swiss Army knives of the school: flexible, multi-talented, and always ready for whatever the day throws at us. Sometimes we’re deep in the data, sometimes we’re managing state reports, and other times we’re setting up for an event, scanning student lunches, or jumping in to help a family. Whatever it takes—we transform to make it happen.
If you love precision but also thrive in motion, this is your kind of team.
The Role
The Data Coordinator is part data guardian, part problem-solver, part all-around operations champion. Yes, you’ll manage student data Systems (SIS, attendance, grades, reporting)—but you’ll also be a key player in keeping the school running smoothly.
You’ll help ensure data accuracy, compliance, and reporting, while jumping in wherever the Ops team needs a hand. You’ll collaborate across teams, support events, troubleshoot issues, and make sure our systems hum. Basically, if there’s a mission that needs completion, you’re on it.
What You’ll Do
- Be the data & systems specialist—maintain accurate student records in the SIS (we use SchoolTool).
- Oversee compliance reporting for local, state, and federal agencies.
- Train staff on how to use systems the right way (and kindly fix it when they don’t 😉).
- Help manage attendance, testing materials, and student schedules.
- Keep things organized, from audits to reports to last-minute requests.
- Jump in to help with open houses, enrollment events, and community gatherings.
- Step into coverage as needed—front office, family support, wherever the team needs you.
- Partner with your Ops teammates to keep things running efficiently, with a smile and a can-do attitude.
Who You Are
You’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves. You’re calm in chaos, precise in your work, and proud of the systems you manage. You like routine—but you love a good curveball even more.
- You’re a detail ninja who understands that clean data drives student success.
- You love being part of a team that adapts—flexible, quick, and collaborative.
- You’re tech-savvy with SIS platforms (SchoolTool, etc) and Excel.
- You communicate clearly and positively—with teachers, families, and colleagues.
- You have strong organizational and troubleshooting skills.
- You care deeply about our mission of doing what’s right for kids.
- You’ve got a Bachelor’s degree (Business, Education, or related) and ideally 2 years of data or operations experience—bonus points if that’s in K-12.
Why You’ll Love It Here
- You’ll join a team that runs on trust, humor, and hustle.
- You’ll get to wear a lot of hats—and actually enjoy it.
- You’ll see the direct impact of your work every single day.
- You’ll grow your skills across systems, reporting, logistics, and school operations.
- And most importantly—you’ll be part of a mission that matters.
The Details
- Full-time, on-site role in Schenectady, NY.
- Fingerprint background check required (we cover the cost).
- We’re deeply committed to anti-racism, equity, and inclusion in all we do.
- Competitive compensation and benefits in a mission-driven workplace.
Ready to Roll?
