Food Service Associate II (PT, up to 20 hours)

The Role (What You’ll Actually Do)

This is a hands-on, fast-moving role at the center of daily school life.

As a Food Service Associate II, you help make sure students receive meals efficiently, safely, and in a clean, welcoming environment. You’re part of the team that keeps things moving during the busiest parts of the day.

What Your Days Might Look Like

You’re helping meals run smoothly:

• Supporting breakfast, lunch, and snack service
• Setting up and breaking down service areas
• Keeping lines moving and students served on time

You’re part of the prep and behind-the-scenes work:

• Assisting with basic food prep like portioning and packaging
• Helping transport food and supplies to classrooms or service areas
• Supporting inventory organization and restocking

You’re keeping things clean, safe, and organized:

• Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces
• Following food safety and sanitation procedures closely
• Assisting with temperature checks and basic logs (with guidance)

You’re part of the Operations Team:

• Jumping in where needed during busy times or schedule changes
• Supporting special events or adjusted service schedules
• Helping maintain a positive, respectful environment for students and staff

Experience That Helps

• Previous food service or cafeteria experience (helpful, not required)
• Experience working in a school setting (a plus)

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Willingness to complete food safety training
