Job Description – Sanitation Supervisor (Night Shift) – Dairy Production
We are partnering with a leading North American dairy manufacturer to hire an experienced Sanitation Supervisor (Night Shift) for their high-volume production facility in Bellingham, WA. This role plays a critical part in ensuring food safety, sanitation excellence, and compliance with regulatory standards in a fast-paced dairy processing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all CIP (Clean-in-Place) sanitation programs.
- Oversee HTST (High Temperature Short Time) pasteurizer cleaning and sanitation.
- Troubleshoot CIP issues, including sensor replacements, air fittings, and system adjustments.
- Plan and allocate manpower for manual cleaning tasks; adjust workloads as needed.
- Monitor and document chemical usage, ensuring adherence to safe operating procedures.
- Review sanitation charts and documentation from CIP and HTST systems.
- Conduct cleanliness verification and sanitation testing.
- Ensure strict compliance with GMP, sanitation SOPs, and workplace safety guidelines.
- Address performance and attendance matters for sanitation team members.
- Recommend and implement sanitation process improvements.
- Communicate daily with QA and facility leadership.
- Foster a positive, high-performing team culture.
Requirements
- 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience (food or dairy manufacturing preferred).
- 1–2 years of experience in a high-volume production environment.
- Working knowledge of GMP, SOPs, and WHMIS/hazardous materials handling.
- Mechanical aptitude is an asset.
- Ability to work in hot/cold environments, handle chemicals, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable kneeling, climbing, bending, and performing repetitive physical tasks.
- Ability to work in a humid, noisy food-production setting.
