Position Overview
The Advertising Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales initiatives to secure advertising partnerships with local, regional, and national brands. This individual will play a key role in driving revenue growth, building long-term client relationships, and positioning Destination Indy as a leading media platform for reaching diverse and engaged audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, prospect, and secure new advertising clients across print, digital, and sponsored content platforms
- Manage and grow an existing book of business through strong relationship-building and client retention strategies
- Develop customized advertising solutions tailored to client goals, including integrated campaigns, branded content, and event sponsorships
- Collaborate with editorial and marketing teams to create compelling proposals and campaigns
- Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets
- Track sales performance, maintain accurate CRM records, and provide regular reporting and forecasts
- Represent Destination Indy at networking events, industry functions, and community engagements
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging opportunities in travel and tourism marketing
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in advertising sales, media sales, or a related field
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Strong understanding of digital advertising, print media, and integrated marketing campaigns
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Established network within arts, hospitality, tourism, or local business communities is a plus
Preferred Skills
- Experience selling to restaurants, high-end retailers, hotels, attractions and and lifestyle brands
- Familiarity with CRM platforms and sales analytics tools
