Position Summary
Destination DC is seeking professional, customer-focused event staff ("Red Coats") to support world-class meetings and events across Washington, DC.
As a Red Coat, you'll serve as an on-site ambassador for the nation's capital-welcoming attendees, supporting event operations, and helping deliver seamless, high-quality experiences at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, hotels, and venues throughout the region. You're not just supporting events, you're helping create memorable experiences and representing one of the world's premier destinations.
This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy working with people, and take pride in representing Washington, DC.
This is a part-time, as-needed position with flexible scheduling based on event demand. Shifts may occur between 5:30 AM and 10:00 PM, seven days a week, with occasional extended hours
What You'll Do: may include a variety of tasks, which include the following (but not limited to):
- Support event registration, check-in, and attendee services
- Provide directions and manage lines in high-traffic areas
- Assist with session operations and room flow
- Help with event setup, logistics, and material distribution
- Deliver a welcoming, professional guest experience.
What You Bring:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive, customer-service focused attitude
- Flexibility and ability to adapt in live event settings
- Reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail
- Comfort using basic technology (tablets, laptops, apps)
- Bonus: if you have experience in events, hospitality, or customer-facing roles, knowledge of Washington, DC, or multilingual skills.
