Primary Objectives of Position:

The primary responsibility of the Account Executive is to achieve the designated gross revenue and gross profit sales goals through the identification of business opportunities, cultivating relationships with clients and partners, developing and maintaining a client database, and defining client objectives and creating solutions that sell. Additionally, represent DCi professionally, competitively and creatively on local, national and industry levels.

Major Areas of Accountability:

  • Implement a strategy and plan for each potential client and partner
  • Develop and manage executive level relationships with clients and partners
  • Define client objectives and design solutions for objectives
  • Develop client base through leads from assigned territories, cold calls, referrals and hoteliers, etc.
  • Responsible for qualifying all leads and developing ideas for leads. Initiate tracking method to respond to all leads from hotels and clients.
  • Manage/direct RFP process
  • Act as main point of contact for all client communication
  • Oversee and manage the elements of the presentation process including gathering information, directing and reviewing proposals, developing value proposition to ensure completion of all elements to DCi's expectations
  • Provide necessary proposal revisions to client by working with Design and Development and ensure that all proposals and correspondence is correct, proofread, and meets client's needs and budget.
  • Close business and finalize closing contracts, arrange deposits schedule and get all contracts signed in a timely fashion.
  • Participate in transition meeting by communicating "big picture perspective" and remain involved with knowledge of client program following turnover meeting
  • Ensure overall client satisfaction with DCi relationship, as well as program delivery
  • Arrange and conduct site inspections and participate in all assigned client sites
  • Review all contracts and final client bills
  • Attend local and national industry events and tradeshows
  • Call on assigned hotels

  • Demonstrate ability to work with team lead or manager to prioritize workload

  • Develop and/or participate in FAM trips within market segment and hotels

  • Maintain GP pricing levels and meet budget requirements.
  • Be available for client and Account Manager during program operation
  • Responsible for remaining current and knowledgeable of industry trends and developments.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, in related field such as Business, Marketing, Sales, or related area
  • 5 years' related experience in sales, product marketing, advertising/promotions, partnership negotiating and contracting
  • Demonstrated ability in developing strategies for selling effectively
  • Knowledge of client development including cold calls, lead follow-up, qualifying the client and sales presentations
  • Must be able to effectively multitask, have very strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and possess a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to interface effectively with personnel critical to ensure the efficient development of a proposal, which meets the clients' specifications
  • Ability to develop proposals through design and development and implement best practices in order to sell profitable programs and drive client satisfaction
  • Ability to prioritize workload of venue requirements, client needs, and business development guidelines
  • Proven ability to meet sales goals consistently
  • Must have excellent analytical skills for program costing, client pricing and budget development
  • Ability to do excellent presentations for client programs, supplier meetings and industry/hotel promotions
  • Must be able to work well and demonstrate respect for colleagues with consistency with all levels of management, ownership, colleagues and staff
  • Contribute to a positive work environment
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings and holidays
  • Ability to travel to venue locations, client offices and tradeshows as requested

Judgment Needed/Influence on Costs and Sales

The Account Executive has authority to initiate actions, control budget and expenditures and directly affect the operating costs and net profit of the company. The Account Executive makes decisions that directly and regularly impact the operating costs and profit margins for their location, sales and client retention.
