Job Description
We are looking for a Host/ Hostess who will be responsible for greeting guesste and organizing reservations.
To succeed in this role, you will need to have a positive attitude and the ability to work well under pressure with bussers, cooks, and other staff. Previous work experience involving customer service in a fast-paced environment is greatly desired.
Host/ Hostess Responsibilities:
- Greeting guests: Warmly welcome customers as they enter the restaurant, making eye contact and acknowledging them with a smile.
Required skills for a hostess role:
- Managing reservations: Taking phone reservations, updating the reservation system, and managing waitlists.
- Seating guests: Assigning tables based on availability and party size, considering customer preferences where possible.
- Providing wait times: Communicating accurate wait times to guests in the waiting area.
- Distributing menus: Presenting menus to seated guests and informing them of any specials or menu changes.
- Maintaining cleanliness: Keeping the hostess stand and waiting area clean and organized.
- Answering questions: Addressing any initial inquiries guests may have regarding the menu or restaurant layout.
- Communication with staff: Coordinating with servers and other staff to ensure smooth service.
Host/ Hostess Requirements: Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with bussers, cooks, and other staff.Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised.
- Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system.
- High school diploma.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and deliver orders promptly.
