We're looking for a detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer with several years of hands on industry experience to join our team. Your responsibilities will include designing system components, creating detailed drawings for manufacturing, and transitioning prototypes into production. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, maintain CAD models and documentation, and apply engineering principles throughout the development process. Strong communication skills, proficiency in Solidworks, and a BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent are required. Responsibilities:
- Design system components, including detailed drawings for manufacturing using best practices and GD&T.
- Create concepts and MVPs transitioning into prototypes and validation test design
- Transition prototypes into production level components, designing for manufacturing (DFM), for assembly (DFA), and cost.
- Maintain 3D CAD models and documentation of system architecture for components and sub-assemblies, build 1st order BOMs.
- Work with an interdisciplinary team to perform detailed design and analysis.
- Learn Solidworks analysis tools such as, CFD, Thermal, and FEA.
- Apply engineering principles during the development process, including, statics, dynamics, thermal/physics, and perform detailed tolerance analysis with multiple contributors.
- Perform DFMEAs, and present design reviews as needed.
- Maintain a high level of communication with cross-functional teams, customers, and leadership.
Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. person (citizen or permanent resident).
- Capable of bringing a product through a full design process; from a clean sheet to final design and production.
- Thorough understanding of core engineering principles, theories, and concepts in mechanical and mechanical systems engineering, physics.
- Ability to identify, design and validate cost saving opportunities against original design intent.
- Exposure to mechanical design and development practices
- Working knowledge of manufacturing techniques such as injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, welding, machining, and 3D printing.
- Experience designing and documenting machined parts, sheet metal, and cast parts for prototyping and mass production.
- Experience engaging with suppliers to integrate components into our system design.
- Ability to resolve complex problems in a creative, efficient, and effective way.
- Ability to apply customer and company-wide perspective to detailed technical decisions.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- 5-10 years working experience in the field.
