Job Summary
Desjarlais Fuel is looking for a reliable and hardworking delivery driver/technician assistant to join our team! You will play a vital role in ensuring timely deliveries and providing exceptional customer service. This position combines driving responsibilities with hands-on support in furnace repairs/cleanings and tank replacements. You'll navigate routes confidently, handle goods safely, and assist technicians with equipment movement—all while maintaining a focus on safety, efficiency, and positive customer interactions.
Duties
- Safely operate commercial vehicles in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and company policies
- Deliver products to customers efficiently across designated routes, ensuring timely arrivals and professional service
- Assist technicians with moving equipment, parts, and tools to job sites or storage areas as needed
- Verify delivery details, obtain payments, and complete delivery documentation accurately
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs or safety concerns promptly
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment to facilitate smooth operations
Requirements
- A valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with no automatic restrictions
- A clean driving record
- Hazmat Endorsement
- Tanker Endorsement
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to commercial driving, hazmat, and weight handling in the workplace
- Flexibility to take on call duties when needed
- Experience with fuel delivery service preferred
