Host/Hostess

It is the primary responsibilities of the Host/Hostess include seating guests monitoring the open dining sections of the or empty and cleaned tables, estimating wait times for guests, monitoring the guest waiting list, and ensuring that the needs of guest are met while they are waiting. The host/hostess is responsible for answering the telephone, booking reservations, and moving tables together to accommodate large parties.

• Provides extraordinary service consistent with the DeSimone Steakhouse standards.
• Greets and seat guests in gracious manner and distribute among service staff equally and as fairly.
• Monitors guests that are seated, and immediately respond to guest’s needs or request of first contact.
• Assists in accepting reservations, if applicable; answers phone in hospitable manner and confirms with manager if large parties can be accommodated.
• Checks on the billing status of casino, room, bill back, and coupon and comp numbers to assist in closing of checks.
• Maintains the proper supplies for the hostess stand and podium; cleans and/or dusts host stand and podium.
• Assists service staff in their tasks as it relates to billing, guest requests or guest information.
• Works with management team to coordinate break scheduling for service staff while ensure adequate floor coverage.
• Anticipate guest needs and provide service to each guest quickly and accurately; advises manager of any guest complaints.

Performs all other job-related duties as requested.

Required:

• 2 years of experience as Host/Hostess in a fine-dining restaurant.
• Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
• Highly motivated and energetic personality.
• Ability to maintain complete knowledge of entire menu and proper food handling presentation and service.
• Strong attention to details, can make decisions quickly, excellent computer and phone skills.
• Withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying items.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• FOH experience preferred but will train.
• Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.

Preferred:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

Must be 21 years of age.
