Job description
DesignPlast Inc. is a millwright construction company dedicated to improving the plastic, grain, and recycling industry through innovative and proven methods. Our home office is in Salina, KS but We have job sites all over the country. We are looking to add to our team by bringing on a Shop Foreman. Please send a resume with a number you can be reached at. This is not a remote or field position, commuting to our Shop in Salina, KS will be required.
Duties:
- Report to project manager
- Follow all safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all employees in shop.
- Read blueprints accurately and look for any discrepancies.
- Operate shop tools such as grinders, drills, torches, plasma cutter and welder.
- Operate fabrication equipment such as CNC brake press, slip roll, bandsaw, drill press and CNC plasma table
- Measure, cut, and clean your own parts
- Lay out parts to be cut in a manner that produces the least amount of waste.
- Layout fabricated pieces according to blueprint and weld them in place.
- Ensure a quality product from start to finish.
- Receive feedback from field on quality and notes for future fabrication on parts.
- Prep equipment for painting, assist painter with putting parts in paint booth.
- Package finished equipment
- Load finished equipment on truck for delivery, work with shipping and receiving as necessary
- Keep work area clean and free of trip or safety hazards.
- Manage all paperwork relating to the shop (Work Orders, timesheets, packing slips, ETC…)
Requirements:
- Self-Motivated
- MIG welding experience
- TIG welding experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Proficient in usage of hand tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
