**Experienced Sewer – Furniture**
Designmaster, a custom upholstered furniture manufacturer in Hickory, NC, is hiring experienced industrial sewers to join our team. We build high-end custom furniture for designers and dealers across the country, and we're looking for skilled sewers who take pride in their craft.
**What you'll do:**
- Sew cushion covers (seat, back, throw pillows) to spec
- Perform flatwork sewing on furniture components (skirts, panels, decking, welt)
- Match patterns on stripes, plaids, and directional fabrics
- Read cutting tickets and sew to provided specifications
- Inspect your own work for quality before passing it down the line
**What we're looking for:**
- 2 years of industrial sewing experience, preferably in furniture, automotive, or marine upholstery
- Comfortable operating single-needle and double-needle industrial machines
- Experience with welt cord application, zipper insertion, and boxing
- Able to work with a variety of materials: woven fabrics, leather, vinyl, and performance fabrics
- Strong attention to detail and consistent quality
- Reliable attendance and ability to work as part of a team
