Designing Events is seeking an experienced New Business Development Lead to direct sales and growth efforts at Designing Events. Our Company mission is to be a high quality, full service, global meeting management company focused on attaining the goals of our individual clients. Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter who thrives on building meaningful partnerships, uncovering opportunities, and closing business with confidence and integrity. Our team works in a hybrid manner and this position has the flexibility to be mostly virtual.
Responsibilities include:
- Proactively identify, research, and pursue new business opportunities with franchise companies, associations, pharmaceutical/clinical organizations and other corporations who share our core values
- Develop and execute strategic outreach plans to generate qualified leads
- Conduct discovery conversations to understand client goals, objectives, and event vision
- Working with existing documentation and the President, develop compelling, customized proposals
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract execution
- Maintain and grow a strong pipeline of opportunities using organized tracking systems
- Represent Designing Events with professionalism at industry events, conferences, and networking functions
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor positioning, and emerging market opportunities
- Travel as needed.
Required qualifications:
- 10 years of Business Development experience
- 5-7 years of Hospitality industry experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel 30-40%
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and public-speaking abilities.
- Energetic, approachable, and able to foster trust and engagement across diverse stakeholders.
- Candidate should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and able to work independently, while maintaining a team atmosphere.
