Core Responsibilities:
As a CAD Tech II, you will:
- Prepare and update engineering, surveying, and design drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Carlson, or equivalent software.
- Assist with the preparation of boundary, topographic, subdivision, and site development plans.
- Research county records and retrieve recorded documents as needed.
- Process and incorporate field survey data into accurate CAD drawings.
- Review drawings and technical documents for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, planners, and project managers to coordinate project deliverables and meet deadlines.
- Support senior technical staff with drafting, design revisions, and project documentation.
- Help refine workflows and leverage technology to improve drafting efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain organized project files and follow company CAD standards and procedures.
- Participate in quality control reviews and assist with troubleshooting technical issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2–3 years of relevant CAD drafting or design experience
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, Land Surveying, or a related field preferred.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or Carlson principles.
- Familiarity with surveying, site/civil engineering, and construction documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret survey plans, engineering drawings, plats, and related technical documents.
- Experience working with field survey data and incorporating it into CAD drawings is preferred.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple disciplines.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- A willingness to learn new software, technologies, and technical processes.
