We are seeking a warm, organized, and proactive Dental Receptionist to join our team. As the face of our practice, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment for patients while managing a range of front office tasks. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, customer-focused, and capable of efficiently supporting both clinical and administrative operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Experience & Front Desk Operations
- Welcome all visitors and patients to the practice, providing a friendly and informative first impression
- Provide information about clinic features and services
- Answer, screen, and route incoming calls; take and relay messages as needed
- Check-in new patients and collect general information during their first visit
- Notify clinicians of patient arrival and readiness
- Make appointments for returning patients and assist with scheduling changes
- Print or reprint appointment reminders and provide school/work excuses as necessary
- Update patient charts and records accurately and promptly
- Insurance & Financial Coordination
- Verify patient insurance information and resolve discrepancies proactively
- Present contracts to patients and coordinate payment arrangements
- Accept payments and accurately post them to patient accounts
- Support account resolution and patient financial questions as needed
- Administrative & Office Support
- Receive, store, and distribute incoming shipments and mail
- Communicate office supply needs to the Practice Director for monthly ordering
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front desk and patient waiting area
- Marketing & Patient Engagement
- Drive internal marketing initiatives and foster team participation
Qualifications:
Front desk experience preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education is a plus
- Previous experience in a dental or medical office preferred
- Familiarity with dental terminology, insurance processes, and scheduling software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Professional demeanor and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care
- Willingness to work as required
Work Schedule & Benefits:
- Schedule is Mon to Thurs from 7:30am to 4:30pm
