General Job Description:
The Technology & Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing the pharmacy’s technology infrastructure while ensuring systems, processes, and data management practices support regulatory compliance. This role serves as the liaison between pharmacy operations, IT vendors, and compliance leadership to ensure systems are secure, integrated, and aligned with federal and state pharmacy regulations.
The position supports pharmacy software platforms, reporting capabilities, cybersecurity practices, and regulatory documentation requirements. The Technology & Compliance Manager plays a key role in maintaining operational efficiency, supporting audits, and ensuring systems meet requirements for a multi-state licensed compounding pharmacy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Manage and optimize the pharmacy’s technology systems, including pharmacy management software, CRM platforms, reporting tools, and system integrations to ensure efficient and reliable operations.
· Ensure technology systems and process support regulatory compliance with applicable standards and regulations including USP <795>, <797>, and <800>, State Board of Pharmacy requirements, HIPAA privacy and security standards, and DEA regulations as applicable.
· Maintain and oversee digital compliance records, documentation systems, and reporting tools to support internal quality assurance processes and regulatory inspections or audits.
· Develop, maintain, and analyze operational and compliance reports to support pharmacy leadership in monitoring performance, regulatory adherence, and operational efficiency.
· Coordinate cybersecurity practices and data protection efforts with IT partners, including managing system access controls, protecting patient information, and ensuring adherence to HIPAA security requirements.
· Provide technical support and guidance to pharmacy staff regarding system use, assist with employee training on technology platforms, and develop standard operating procedures related to technology and data management.
· Identify opportunities to improve operational workflows through technology solutions, automation, reporting enhancements, and system integration improvements.
· Support technology-related projects and initiatives that enhance pharmacy operations, compliance management, and scalability of systems.
Qualifications:
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy Technology, or reflated field.
Experience & Certifications
· 5 years of experience in healthcare operations, pharmacy technology systems, IT coordination, or regulatory compliance support
· Experience working with pharmacy management software or healthcare technology systems is strongly preferred.
· Experience in a regulated healthcare or pharmacy environment, particularly compounding pharmacy operations, is highly desirable.
Knowledge/Skills
· Knowledge of healthcare or pharmacy regulatory frameworks and compliance standards.
· Familiarity with HIPAA privacy and security practices and healthcare data protection requirements.
· Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to manage technology vendors and coordinate cross-functional technology projects.
· Strong organizational and project management abilities.
· Ability to translate operational needs into technical solutions.
· Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical staff.
Work Environment:
This position operates within a standard pharmacy and office environment. The role routinely requires:
· Prolonged periods of sitting and standing
· Frequent reaching, bending, stooping and stretching
· Use of computers, telephones, and office equipment
· Occasional lifting of items up to 25 pounds
· Walking within pharmacy operations and between department or facilities
· Adequate vision and hearing to perform job duties effectively
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Additional Requirements:
· Must pass a background check and drug screen

Compensation and Benefit Summary:
Compensation will be determined based on skills, education, and experience. Compensation includes eligibility for performance-based quarterly bonuses.
