Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Bather/Boarding Technician to join our grooming and pet care team. This role involves providing high-quality bathing, grooming, and boarding services for a variety of animals, primarily dogs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal handling, pet grooming, and bathing related experience. Duties
- Safely bathe, dry, and groom animals according to their individual needs and owner specifications
- Assist with animal restraint during grooming procedures to ensure safety for both pets and staff
- Monitor animals during boarding stays, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout their stay
- Perform basic health assessments and report any concerns to staff
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming and boarding areas, including equipment sterilization
- Assist with pet feeding, medication administration, and exercise as needed
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets’ care and grooming needs
- Handle animals gently and professionally, demonstrating patience with pets of all temperaments
Skills
- Experience in dog training, pet bathing, or animal handling preferred
- Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and pet care best practices
- Ability to lift heavy loads (heavy lifting) safely when handling large animals or equipment
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Animal care experience including kennel management or pet sitting is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
