Responsibilities:
- Develop precise 2D and 3D drawings for precast concrete products, including but not limited to storm inlets, sewer manholes, reinforced concrete pipes (RCP), reinforced concrete arch pipes (RCAP), box culverts, bridges, and other custom infrastructure elements.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and production teams to interpret design specifications, resolve discrepancies, and ensure drawings meet client requirements and regulatory standards (e.g., ASTM, AASHTO).
- Prepare submittal packages, including shop drawings, fabrication details, and assembly instructions, for review and approval.
- Maintain and update drawing libraries, templates, and standards to improve efficiency and consistency across projects.
- Research emerging AI drafting tools and technologies to streamline workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance accuracy in the drafting and submittal processes.
- Implement new processes and best practices based on research findings, including training team members on adopted tools.
- Perform quality checks on drawings to ensure dimensional accuracy, material specifications, and constructability.
- Assist in troubleshooting design issues during production and installation phases.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree or higher in Drafting, CAD Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in drafting, preferably in the precast concrete, construction, or manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in DraftSight or similar drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Strong understanding of precast concrete design principles, including reinforcement detailing, joint configurations, and load-bearing calculations.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to produce error-free drawings under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
