Role Description
This is a part-time hybrid role based in New York, NY, with the flexibility to work from home on occasion. As an Assistant Lighting Designer, you will assist in conceptualizing and executing lighting designs for live events and architectural projects. Responsibilities include supporting lighting design processes, managing lighting controls, collaborating with senior designers, and contributing to project development stages to ensure creative and technical excellence.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Lighting Design and Lighting Control
- Experience in Architectural Lighting Design
- A solid foundation in general Lighting principles
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in-person and remotely within a highly creative team environment
- A bachelor’s degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Theater, or a related field is preferred
- Familiarity with lighting visualization tools and software is a plus
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Vectorworks (2D and 3D)
