Position Summary

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.   The Outside Upholstery Tech adds the final covering to the frame to complete the piece of the upholstered furniture.

Essential Functions

• Attaches  trimming material to upholstered frame
• Trim upholstered furniture using appropriate tools ensuring the seams and grain is straight
• Applies out-arms, out-backs and welt
• Installs black bottom on the underside of the piece

Minimum Requirements

• Candidates should have a minimum 3 years’ experience as a trimmer in a production environment.
• Must be self-directed, quality-minded and be able to work on their own.
• Ability to understand and work from written instructions and design specifications.
• Must be able to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
• The ability to work harmoniously with a team to complete projects in a timely manner.
• Excellent attendance.

Other Duties

As part of the Design Foundry team, all associates should have a willing attitude to assist in other areas as needed.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment can be moderate to loud. The facility is temperature controlled, organized, safe and clean.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. To perform this role successfully requires the ability to stand consistently for an 8-hour shift, 9 hours during overtime. Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Manual Dexterity -- The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. Finger Dexterity -- The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects. Near Vision -- The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Static Strength -- The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects. Push objects 75 to 100 pounds alone or with a partner.
