POSITION SUMMARY

The Welder will be responsible for reading blueprints, tacking materials, and assisting other welders/fabricators to ensure on-time and high-quality items are fabricated to multiple end users. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:



  • Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.

  • Performs the welding and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.

  • Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded.

  • Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.

  • Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.

  • Quality control to meet customer and internal standards.

  • Ability to work in a safe manner consistent with OSHA Standards.

  • Ability to work efficiently.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or GED required

  • A minimum of 0-1 years of relative experience required

  • Experienced with MIG welding

  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and other shop drawing required

  • Computer literacy and ability to read a tape measure

  • Strong math skills and mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to meet all deadlines even with changing priorities

  • Continuous improvement and quality focus

  • Previous use of manual and power hand tools required

The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds without assistance. The employee is regularly required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, etc. in production areas.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will utilize all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and will frequently work in extreme hot, cold, wet, and/or noisy conditions where material particles from grinding and other operations may be present.
