Who We Are
We are Design Citizen; a human-centered talent agency working with organizations to create innovative, inclusive, and sustainable business solutions through design.
Our client, a global leader at the intersection of health, science, and technology, is seeking a Senior Program Manager to support a large-scale enterprise transformation initiative focused on the future of the digital employee experience.
This is a highly visible leadership role supporting the modernization of a global intranet and workplace platform that will incorporate AI-powered search, intelligent content delivery, enterprise integrations, accessibility standards, and organizational change management at scale. The work spans technology, operations, governance, communications, and employee experience — requiring someone who can bring clarity and momentum to a highly complex environment.
Why This Role Matters
Enterprise transformation programs succeed or fail based on alignment. Not just between technologies, but between people, priorities, teams, and decisions.
In this role, you’ll serve as a central force connecting business stakeholders, technology teams, implementation partners, and executive leadership throughout the full lifecycle of a major enterprise initiative. You’ll help guide the program from platform selection through implementation, launch, and early stabilization, ensuring teams remain coordinated, risks are surfaced early, and delivery stays aligned to broader organizational goals.
This is not a task-tracking PM role. It is a strategic program leadership position designed for someone who thrives in complexity, communicates with precision, and knows how to move large organizations forward without creating unnecessary friction.
The ideal person for this role brings calm leadership under pressure, strong operational instincts, and the ability to navigate ambiguity without losing momentum. They know when to facilitate, when to escalate, and when to hold the line.
What You’ll Do
Program Leadership & Execution
• Own and drive the integrated program plan across multiple workstreams including Technology, UX, Content, Communications, and Organizational Change Management
• Maintain alignment between scope, priorities, dependencies, and go-live objectives across the broader enterprise program
• Track program risks, issues, decisions, timelines, and resource allocation while maintaining a clear source of truth for stakeholders
• Coordinate delivery across internal teams and external implementation partners to ensure execution remains aligned and accountable
• Develop and maintain a roadmap for post-launch improvements, enhancements, and future-state capabilities
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Coordination
• Serve as a primary coordination point between business leadership, communications teams, and the technology organization
• Navigate highly matrixed environments involving numerous internal stakeholders, enterprise systems, and leadership groups
• Facilitate cross-functional alignment, remove blockers, and drive decision-making across interconnected workstreams
• Build trust quickly across teams while maintaining clarity, momentum, and accountability
Executive Communication & Governance
• Prepare and facilitate executive updates, governance reviews, and steering committee discussions
• Deliver concise, executive-ready communication appropriate for senior leadership audiences
• Anticipate organizational risks and proactively engage the right stakeholders at the right time
• Provide structure and visibility without introducing unnecessary process overhead
Organizational Change, Accessibility & Compliance
• Coordinate change management and training readiness efforts across impacted employee groups
• Partner with accessibility, legal, privacy, cybersecurity, and governance teams to ensure organizational and regulatory requirements are embedded throughout delivery
• Help ensure the platform supports accessibility standards, governance expectations, and enterprise-wide operational integrity
Team Operations & Sustainability
• Monitor team capacity and workload across individuals supporting both current-state operations and future-state transformation work
• Help create sustainable delivery practices that balance urgency with long-term team effectiveness
• Support a collaborative and solutions-oriented working environment across internal and external partners
What You Bring
• Proven experience leading large-scale enterprise programs with multiple concurrent workstreams and stakeholder groups
• Strong Agile delivery background with practical experience operating within Scrum, SAFe, or hybrid enterprise delivery environments
• Experience partnering with major implementation or consulting firms such as Deloitte, Accenture, IBM, or similar organizations
• Exceptional communication and facilitation skills across both technical and executive audiences
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence in highly matrixed organizations without relying on formal authority
• Strong judgment around escalation, prioritization, stakeholder management, and delivery integrity
• Experience operating within complex enterprise environments where ambiguity, competing priorities, and organizational nuance are part of the work
Preferred Experience
• Digital workplace, intranet, or employee experience platform programs
• AI-powered product initiatives including intelligent search, LLM integrations, or enterprise AI experiences
• Enterprise platform integrations including SSO, APIs, governance, RBAC, and large-scale content ecosystems
• Regulated industries such as healthcare, pharma, life sciences, or financial services
• Vendor selection, onboarding, and enterprise implementation oversight
Who You Are
• Direct, thoughtful, and concise in your communication
• Calm under pressure and comfortable operating in high-visibility environments
• Confident without overpowering conversations or teams
• Able to navigate complexity while keeping people aligned and moving forward
• Strategic in perspective, but grounded in practical execution
• Comfortable challenging assumptions, pushing back when necessary, and protecting the integrity of delivery
