Civil Engineer Duties Typically Include
- Potential site investigations including existing vegetation, soils, utilities, and road access.
- Interpretation of geotechnical data for analysis of ground improvement solutions appropriate to the project.
- Design of minor roadways and access drives, building sites, parking lot layout, and pedestrian access.
- Design of storm water management, drinking water supply, wastewater, solid waste, and hazardous material impact on design.
- Preparation of project narratives and written analyses of proposed design solutions
- Estimation of construction costs, review of construction project submittals and progress inspections.
- Occasional in-state travel is required for site visits.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering
- Professional Licensed Civil Engineer (not required)
- Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Currently living in Alaska
- Construction industry related work experience
