SUPERINTENDENT POSITION – DESIGN 2 CONSTRUCT
Position Summary: This person will need to effectively organize, communicate and follow through on all tasks involved in facilitating a complete turnkey building construction project, as well as work hand in hand with Project Managers, in-house Architects, Subcontractors and Owners/Clients to complete each project on time and on budget.
Essential Responsibilities: While the items listed below are intended to define the major aspects of the position, they are not intended to be a complete list of responsibilities. An important factor in the success of the Superintendent is the understanding that flexibility in helping others is essential for the overall benefit of the company.
- Provide overall job site supervision on each project with main focus being safety, schedule and quality
- Consult with Project Manager(s), Clients, vendors, and subcontractors to discuss and formulate schedule for construction
- Organize jobsite with a site utilization plan
- Review plans and predict potential site issues and work with team to establish and maintain the best approach to avoid such issues
- Work with PM to develop a list of critical materials with lead times that are priorities and attach target dates for delivery to jobsite
- Organize jobsite in an effective safe manner for workers and Owner interaction
- Always enforce D2C safety standards and OSHA safety regulations
- Complete Daily Logs and take pictures daily
- Hold on-site meetings with subcontractors weekly to review schedule for the upcoming work week and develop work arounds for issues that have developed
- Authorize work orders
- Always maintain a clean jobsite
- Complete a Safety Inspection on Procore weekly
- Organize and hold pre-install meetings for subcontractors prior to work commencing
- Work with subs and PM to define and submit RFI’s for questions that are important to the overall building construction
- Review work for compliance and quality standards of D2C.Superintendent is ultimately responsible for all quality. Project must meet D2C standards at completion with minimal rework or punchlist
- Analyze plans, specifications, proposals, and other documentation
- Anticipate and remove possible project barriers
- Coordinate with Clients to accomplish project goals while maintaining a positive business relationship
- Lead multiple project teams to deliver projects efficiently and in alignment with company goals
- Distribute project punchlist to subcontractors and monitor its progress
- Completes all tasks with primary focus on Safety, Schedule & Quality at all times
Position Requirements: Below is a list of the minimum knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to execute the key responsibilities of the Superintendent:
- Minimum 5 years in superintendent position and minimum 10 years construction experience
- Proven track record managing commercial construction projects with professional references that can speak to project results and collaboration skills
- We value individuals who demonstrate strong communication, organization, and follow-through required for managing construction projects
- Communicate frequently with Clients regarding project status
- Maintain project schedule with on-time delivery
- Leadership qualities and ability to lead a diverse construction team successfully
