Desi Fresh Foods is a leading "cultured" dairy manufacturer with 25 years of experience. We produce high-quality and consistent products, which include yogurt (Dahi or Indian, Greek and traditional), smoothies/yogurt drinks, sour cream, and dips from single serve options to food service sides. We are currently seeking a skilled Supply Planner to join our team and contribute to the ongoing success of our facility in Winchester, Virginia!

​About the Role

The Supply Planner is responsible for coordinating production schedules, managing raw material and packaging inventories, and ensuring finished goods availability to meet customer demand. This role partners closely with Production, Procurement, and Inventory teams to align supply plans with manufacturing capacity, reduce waste, and optimize inventory turns. The ideal candidate will bring experience in materials planning and production coordination within a refrigerated food manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short- and long-term production schedules based on demand forecasts, capacity, and material availability.

• Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods to prevent stockouts or excess inventory.

• Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely replenishment of key materials and components.

• Utilize ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Sage) to manage material requirements and synchronize supply and production activities.

• Conduct daily and weekly production planning meetings to communicate priorities, capacity constraints, and changes in demand.

• Collaborate with Operations and Quality to ensure production plans align with equipment availability, batch sequencing, and quality standards.

• Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory accuracy, production adherence, and forecast accuracy.

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance planning accuracy, reduce waste, and increase production efficiency.

• Maintain accurate records of production, materials, and inventory transactions in compliance with FDA, USDA, HACCP, SQF, and GMP standards.

• Support continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration with warehouse, logistics, and customer service teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in production planning, materials management, or inventory control within a food manufacturing or CPG environment.

• APICS/ASCM CPIM or CDCP certifications are preferred but not required

• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and MS Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).

• Strong understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs), lead times, and capacity constraints.

• Knowledge of inventory management best practices (FIFO, safety stock, cycle counting).

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a high attention to detail.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.

• Familiarity with FDA, USDA, HACCP, SQF, and GMP requirements in food production environments.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package. This role has a pay range of $65,000 - $80,000 annually. The pay range provided is an estimated base pay range for this role. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, education, and location.
