As a Mechanical/Structural Design Engineer at IMS, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the design and development of complex mechanical and structural components for a range of equipment and machinery, including overhead cranes, gantry cranes, hoists, trolleys, speed reducers, structural weldments, and other material handling structures.

As a Mechanical/Structural Design Engineer at IMS, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the design and development of complex mechanical and structural components for a range of equipment and machinery, including overhead cranes, gantry cranes, hoists, trolleys, speed reducers, structural weldments, and other material handling structures.
Essential Functions
- Provide designs for moderately complex engineering assignments, encompassing structural and mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.
- Apply engineering principles to design products, ensuring high-quality and efficient solutions for overhead material handling equipment.
- May be involved in various phases, including fabrication, operation, application, installation, repair, and modification of structural/mechanical products.
- Complete work in adherence to standard engineering principles and practices.
- Design structural and mechanical components as required for equipment and machinery.
- Prepare structural and mechanical engineering calculations using computerized and manual methods.
- Utilize SolidWorks and AutoCAD for creating 3D and 2D structural and mechanical drawings.
- Generate general arrangement layouts, assembly drawings, detailed shop drawings, bills of materials, and part drawings.
- Work with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for documentation and communication.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills, prioritizing and managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Exhibit the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- 0 to 5 years of engineering experience.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and practices.
- Proficiency in design software, including SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
