You will work closely with the executive team to prepare state and federal funding applications, support financial modeling, coordinate documentation required by lenders and investors, and keep projects organized and moving forward from early feasibility through construction.

This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, enjoys solving problems, and wants to grow a career in real estate development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and submission of project applications to the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA).

  • Track soft cost invoices, soft cost change orders, and assist in compiling lender draw packages.
  • Prepare and submit grant disbursement requests for state-funded programs.
  • Coordinate builder’s risk and general liability insurance for active developments and provide EOIs to lenders/investors during due diligence.
  • Assist in the creation of pro forma financial statements and development sources/uses reports.
  • Support research and identification of new funding sources to layer development capital stacks.
  • Maintain project-specific development checklists and track deadlines for agency, lender, and investor deliverables.
  • Conduct financial analysis and help compile financial materials for lenders, CPAs, and internal leadership.
  • Submit FOIA requests to MSHDA and organize responses for use in underwriting and application preparation.
  • Update and manage the development database (Monday.com) for mortgages, properties, tasks, and project tracking.
  • Champion DeShano Development through timely, professional communication with internal and external partners.
  • Assist with LIHTC scoring research and maintain the team’s ESRI ArcGIS mapping database.
  • Provide general administrative support to the development team as needed.

Education Requirements:
