Position Overview
We are seeking an Experienced Hydrovac CDL Operator with a strong background in civil construction environments. This role involves operating hydrovac excavation trucks to support underground utility installation, potholing, daylighting, trenching, and other civil construction tasks. The ideal candidate understands the demands of construction job sites and can work effectively in fast-paced, safety-focused environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate hydrovac trucks for non-destructive excavation on civil construction sites
- Safely expose underground utilities (gas, water, sewer, electrical, telecom) using pressurized water and vacuum systems
- Assist civil crews with site preparation, trenching, and utility location
- Conduct accurate potholing/daylighting to support engineering and construction work
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to maintain equipment reliability
- Follow all company and jobsite safety procedures, including traffic control and trench safety standards
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, civil contractors, inspectors, and team members
- Support general construction labor tasks when needed to keep job sites running efficiently
- Complete all required documentation, logs, and jobsite reports accurately
Qualifications
- Class A or B CDL license with a clean driving record
- 1 years of Hydrovac Operator experience required (civil construction experience strongly preferred)
- Knowledge of underground construction, utility work, and excavation safety
- Ability to read jobsite plans, utility markings, and follow engineered dig instructions
- Strong awareness of civil construction hazards (traffic, utilities, trenching, heavy equipment)
- Physically able to lift, stand, and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to pass drug testing and background screening

- Previous experience supporting utility installation, municipal projects, or infrastructure work
- Tanker endorsement
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Experience working around heavy equipment on active civil construction sites
