Desert Pool Commercial, Inc.

Job Type: Full-Time
Work Location: In Person / Field-Based

Position Summary

Desert Pool Commercial, Inc. is seeking a dependable, experienced, and self-motivated Commercial Pool Service Technician to join our team.

This position is responsible for the scheduled service and maintenance of commercial swimming pools throughout an assigned route. Our customers include HOAs, multifamily communities, commercial properties, fitness facilities, hospitality properties, and other commercial aquatic facilities.

The technician is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and properly balanced pools; monitoring water chemistry; inspecting equipment; identifying potential problems; documenting each service visit; and communicating issues to management.

This is an independent field position. The ideal candidate takes ownership of their route, manages their time effectively, pays attention to details, and does not need constant supervision to ensure the job is completed correctly.

Essential Responsibilities

Pool Service & Maintenance

  • Perform all scheduled pool services according to customer contracts, Desert Pool Commercial SOPs, and company standards.
  • Skim pool surfaces and remove debris.
  • Brush walls, steps, benches, floors, and waterline tile.
  • Vacuum pools as needed to maintain a clean and professional appearance.
  • Empty and clean skimmer, pump, and cleaner baskets.
  • Backwash and clean filters as required.
  • Inspect pool decks and immediate pool areas for cleanliness, safety concerns, damage, or unusual conditions.
  • Maintain equipment rooms and equipment areas in a clean and orderly condition.

  • Test and monitor chlorine, pH, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, cyanuric acid (CYA), salt, and other applicable water-quality parameters.
  • Properly add and adjust chemicals according to Desert Pool Commercial procedures and applicable health and safety requirements.
  • Monitor chemical feeders, controllers, erosion feeders, salt systems, and other sanitation equipment.
  • Recognize abnormal chemical conditions and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Identify water-quality problems before they result in algae, cloudy water, unsafe conditions, or regulatory violations.
  • Maintain accurate chemical readings and service documentation for every visit.
  • Immediately report conditions that cannot be corrected during the scheduled service visit.

Equipment Inspection & Preventative Maintenance

  • Inspect pumps, motors, filters, heaters, chemical systems, automation, controllers, valves, plumbing, and other pool equipment during service visits.
  • Look for leaks, abnormal pressures, unusual noises, loss of flow, air intrusion, electrical or automation issues, and other signs of potential equipment failure.
  • Perform minor repairs and adjustments within the technician's training and authorization.
  • Identify developing equipment problems before they become major failures whenever reasonably possible.

  • Take clear photographs when required to document property and equipment conditions.

  • Immediately communicate significant safety, water-quality, or equipment concerns to management.
  • Follow Desert Pool Commercial's established SOPs, quality-control procedures, and technician performance standards.

Customer Service & Communication

  • Professionally interact with property managers, HOA representatives, maintenance personnel, residents, facility staff, and other customers.
  • Respond courteously and professionally to customer questions.
  • Never make unauthorized commitments regarding repairs, pricing, scheduling, or additional work.
  • Communicate customer concerns and service needs to management.

  • Immediately notifying management of delays, access problems, equipment failures, emergencies, or other circumstances that may affect completion of the route.
