What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operating Room RN position at Desert Plastic Surgery Center?
Experience and willingness for some PACU work is a plus. We pride ourselves on warm, friendly patient care and stellar teamwork. Our nurse to patient ratio is 1:1. Specialties include Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Responsibilities include:
- Pre-op patients prior to surgery
- Patient assessment, urine dip stick and review pre-op labs
- Verify intake health information
- Start IV and monitor patient’s status
- Intra-op documentation, gather supplies, fluid, and additional supplies as needed
- Maintain daily function logs, and accreditation books
- Assist anesthesia, scrub tech, and surgeon in OR
- Prepare/set up OR per case, scrub/prep patient surgical site for surgery
- Apply post-surgical dressings and garments, and assist to turn over OR
- Monitor patient post-operatively and perform assessments throughout recovery
- Provide patient and family with discharge instructions.
