We are seeking a reliable Dietary Aide to join our dining services team. The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting with food preparation, assembling patient trays, delivering meals, and maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen environment. The ideal candidate ensures that meals are served accurately according to diet orders and provides excellent service to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out defined work routines with various dietary utensils, supplies, and equipment.
- Ensure timely meal and snack service.
- Help with the preparation and serving of snacks, salads, and desserts.
- Check meal tray accuracy against patient menus and dietary restrictions.
- Prepare simple food items, salads, and snacks.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dishwashing area, and dining room, including cleaning equipment and sanitation.
- Ensure all food handling follows safety and health standards.
- Engage with patients, providing friendly, high-quality customer service.
- Assist in receiving and storing food supplies safely.
- Complete side work and other opening/closing responsibilities.
- Participate in departmental and in-service educational programs.
- Shifts are 4:30am - 3:00pm and/or 9:00am - 7:30pm
- Previous experience in food service, ideally in a healthcare or long-term care setting, is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of safe food handling practices.
- Ability to read and follow recipes and diet orders.
- Must possess or be in the process of obtaining a valid Nevada Food Handler Certification.
- Basic understanding of food service practices and nutrition preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and co-workers.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Note: Pre-employment drug screening, to include testing for marijuana, is required upon job offer.
