Professional Duties

• Review all incoming referrals that require labs to ensure that appropriate labs are within established parameters and that all required documentation is on file for the treatment ordered.
• Review incoming orders for accuracy and confirm that order is complete and all required documentation is on file.
• Contact referring Provider’s office if labs are not on file and/or are outside appropriate parameters, if order is incomplete or if any additional information is needed prior to scheduling patient.
• Send all complete orders and referrals to the front desk for scheduling.
• Review patient charts the day before scheduled appointment to confirm all documentation is on file and confirm that medication is available. If medication is not available, notify patient to cancel/reschedule appointment.
• Ensure that all charges are accurately documented in the patient’s electronic health record (EHR) and/or electronic medical record (EMR) in accordance with departmental policies, procedures and established timeframes.
• Provide routine updates on patient’s progress to healthcare providers involved in the patient’s care to promote care coordination and continuity of care.
• Document patient visits and all other interactions in patient’s EHR/EMR in accordance with departmental policies, procedures and established timeframes.
• Assess patient upon arrival to ensure that patient is stable to receive scheduled treatment. If patient is not stable, guide patient to the Immediate Care for treatment and provide an update to appropriate staff.
• Conduct weekly review of medication and supply inventory and place orders for items.
• Conduct monthly quality control review of departmental medications and supplies. Ensure that all expired medications and supplies are properly discarded in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Review and maintain temperature log on a daily basis.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Serve as an ambassador for Desert Oasis Healthcare and Family Hospice Care at all times and positively shape the customer experience

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and Current California Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
• Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) line certification, preferred.
• 3 years of experience as a professional nurse in an acute care facility, emergency room, or Immediate Care setting and 1 year of RN experience required.
• Proficient IV and Phlebotomy skills. Excellent Clinical skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with individuals within all levels of the organization, patients, patient family members, providers, vendors and others.
• BLS within 60 days of hire required.
• Current California driver’s license and proof of auto insurance coverage,
