Job Summary
We are looking for a compassionate, diligent behavioral health technician to join our behavioral health facility. You will be working in conjunction with Clinical Directors and other Therapists to implement treatment plans for clients with behavior disorders, providing them with the care, support, and supervision they require.
To be successful as a behavioral health technician, you should be an excellent listener with a solid understanding of what it takes to treat or manage behavioral disorders. An effective behavioral health technician demonstrates empathy, possesses strong interpersonal and observational skills, and maintains composure under pressure.
All employees at Desert Marriage and Family Counseling, Inc, are required to have Criminal Justice clearance.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out individual treatment plans prescribed by IOP PHP Clinical Director/ DMFC Clinical Director/ Therapist.
- Monitoring clients and recording your observations.
- Reporting back on each client's progress and concerns.
- Ensuring clients have a safe and supportive environment.
- Providing emotional support to clients.
- Alerting IOP PHP Clinical Director/ DMFC Clinical Director/ Therapists to intervene in emergencies.
- Answer telephone, screen, and direct calls.
- Take and relay messages.
- Maintain excellent communication skills with clients and staff via phone, text, and emails.
- Display kindness and be open to providing accommodations to clients and staff.
- Leadership – Maintain a positive, upbeat role, promote and exemplify Company values and represents departmental objectives and interests to internal and external customers.
- Customer Service – Follow up on complaints, questions, and concerns; respond to internal/external customer needs in a friendly, timely and efficient manner.
- Teamwork - Develop and promote teamwork and cooperation among co-workers.
- Safety – Comply with established safe work practices and attend to all safety-related training provided or made available by the Company.

Education and/ or Experience
- Certification or Associate’s degree in behavioral health.
- Experience working in a mental health facility.

Required Licenses/Certifications
- Certificate or License in Behavioral Health
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
