What are the responsibilities and job description for the Christian Educator position at Desert Light Christian Academy?
We are looking for Christian educators who love God, children and education to join our team. We are a private Christian school educating grades K-8 in a traditional classroom setting. We've got our own style but if you're teachable, hard working, and love our vision, then you'll fit right in!
Responsibilities
Our teachers are empowered and entrusted to lead a classroom of up to 20 students with the following responsibilities:
- Prepare weekly lesson plans aligned to our curriculum (BJU Press)
- Provide engaging and informative classroom instruction that is age and subject appropriate.
- Provide a strong moral and spiritual example in word and conduct for your students and the community.
- Communicate and interact regularly with parents and families of your students.
- Communicate and interact regularly with school staff and administration.
- Other duties as deemed appropriate and necessary by the school administration.
Qualifications
While we don't require that our teachers are certified by the State, we are looking for educated professionals. Work experience in education is a plus for any position and all of our staff are committed followers of Jesus Christ and active members in a local church family. Candidate qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree
- AZ IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card (Must be obtained prior to employment)
- Agreement with our Statement of Faith (available on our website)
- Active participation in a local church family
Compensation
Our educators are paid an annual salary over a ten-month period. We offer a competitive pay scale based on years of teaching experience and level of education.
