Database Management:
- Manage and administer the company's database systems, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and reliability.
- Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data.
- Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Optimize database configurations and conduct regular performance tuning activities.
- Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database structures that support the requirements of our business systems.
- Ensure that database designs adhere to best practices for scalability, maintainability, and efficiency.
- Implement and manage database backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures.
- Plan and execute database software upgrades and patches in coordination with IT stakeholders. Ensure the accessibility, retrievability and security of specific subsets of database and indexing.
- Stay informed about the latest database technologies and recommend upgrades as needed.
- Respond to database-related incidents and troubleshoot issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve database-related challenges.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Provide training and support to junior database administrators as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- 5 years experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on managing databases in a production environment required.
- 3 years experience with Financial Services and Information Technology concepts, best practices, and procedures including governing bodies (NCUA, GLBA, SEC) and standards organizations (COBIT, FFIEC, NIST, ITIL) required.
- 3 years Enterprise Data Center experience supporting mission critical, 24x7, Highly Available (HA), and Disaster Recovery (DR) database architectures required.
- 1 years experience working in a multi-client environment preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of data management practices and database administration processes
- Demonstrated experience with support design and management of relational databases with multiple RDBMS vendors (SQL and PostgreSQL)
- Strong knowledge of database architecture, performance tuning, and optimization techniques.
- Demonstrated knowledge of database backup, recovery strategy, database performance management and tuning
- Demonstrated expertise with database security and compliance requirements in the financial industry is a plus.
- Expertise in database administration for relational database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Microsoft SQL Certifications- MCP, MCITP, MCTS required.
