Duties
- Conduct thorough diagnostics on diesel engines and heavy equipment using schematics, diagnostic tools, and electrical testing methods.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, brakes, suspensions, shocks & struts, and HVAC systems.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding equipment and hand tools to ensure proper fit and function.
- Service a variety of machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and tractor-trailers.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems such as automotive electrical systems and air brake systems to identify issues accurately.
- Perform vehicle alignment, tire service, heavy lifting, and general equipment maintenance to maximize operational safety and efficiency.
- Follow detailed schematics and technical manuals for complex repairs while adhering to safety standards and best practices.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or extensive heavy equipment mechanic background with a strong understanding of diesel mechanics.
- Proficiency in automotive diagnostics, electrical system repair, hydraulics, suspension systems, and transmission repair.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; capable of using power tools effectively.
- Ability to read schematics accurately for troubleshooting electrical or mechanical issues across various machinery types.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery safely and efficiently.
- Mechanical knowledge of farm machinery, industrial equipment, vehicle maintenance procedures for trucks and trailers.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
